Recorded at Country Joe And The Fish's farewell performance at San Francisco's legendary Fillmore, this live set features six lengthy performances, mostly of material from the then-recent HERE WE ARE AGAIN. Country Joe McDonald and Barry "The Fish" Melton reunited occasionally over the next few decades, but they never had this magic again.
The set's centerpiece is a surprisingly supple 38-minute jam on that album's "Donovan's Reef," with special guest stars Steve Miller, Jerry Garcia, and Mickey Hart. Jefferson Airplane's Jack Casady plays bass throughout the set. The five preceding tracks, including a rave-up on the scorching "Doctor of Electricity" and a surprisingly delicate performance of the uncharacteristically tender "It's So Nice to Have Your Love," are more traditional Country Joe And The Fish performances.
