Codex Necro [LP]

Originally released in 2001, THE CODEX NECRO marked the debut album for British black metal duo Anaal Nathrakh, responsible for some of the thrashiest, most grim grind of its kind. The album bursts forth with pure contempt and hatred for the world and all that live in it, with haunting lead dirges hardwired into relentless blast beats and vocalizing that would make most singers cough up blood. While listeners may not be able to decipher the lyrics, the way in which they're delivered--not to mention song titles such as "Pandemonic Hyperblast" and "When Humanity is Cancer"--paint the picture all too clearly. This edition includes four bonus tracks not featured on the original release.
