Completely without irony, Low perform five original and three traditional Christmas songs on this disc. And speaking of traditional, brace yourselves for the surprising Phil Spector-style original that opens up the disc, "Just Like Christmas," a cut that even features sleigh bells. But then there is the fuzzed-out, indie drone take on "Little Drummer Boy." And Mimi sings a beautiful, note-perfect rendition of "Blue Christmas" at a heroically lethargic tempo. It's all sincere and quite lovely.
