Blunted at Birth

While necessity is the mother of invention, every once in a while something comes along to solve a problem you didn't even know you had. Playing that role here is Cannabis Corpse, a band filling the niche of weed-obsessed death metal by channeling the destructive power of Cannibal Corpse through the minds of Cheech & Chong. On their debut, Blunted at Birth, Cannabis Corpse come rampaging out of the gate with a collection of songs that are anything but mellow stoner jams, hammering listeners with tracks like "Force Fed Shitty Grass" and "When Weed Replaces Life." While it may seem like a funny joke, the album is surprisingly solid, making for a surprisingly legit album from the highest death metal band on the planet. ~ Gregory Heaney
