Originally put together by Sun Records in 1962, some four years after Johnny Cash had flown the coop to Columbia, this collection of train-related songs actually holds together better than many more recent compilations. Together with the familiar strains of "Rock Island Line," "The Wreck of Old '97," and "Hey, Porter!," the 21st-century version features previously unreleased outtakes and demos of songs like Jimmie Rodgers' "Brakeman's Blues," Cash's own "Leave That Junk Alone," and his "You're My Baby'--the latter later rocked-up by Roy Orbison--which Cash claimed was the worst song he ever wrote.
