The late Dennis Brown's 1979 WORDS OF WISDOM's track list reads like a best of, and its list of musicians and producers like a Who's Who of Reggae. Included are signature Dennis Brown tunes like "Cassandra," "Should I," and "Money in My Pocket" (the second version which became the UK hit), roots tunes like "Rasta Children" and "Love Jah," and covers of Dennis Walks' "The Drifter," and Alton Ellis' "Ain't That Loving You."
WORDS OF WISDOM underscores Brown's uniqueness--he was a superb singer of both lovers rock and roots material, and an underrated songwriter. This album is a gem amongst the towering stack of Brown releases.
