Hordanes Land

Originally released in 1993, HORDES LAND is the debut from Norwegian Viking metalists Enslaved. The EP was also released as a split album with fellow norse mythology enthusiasts Emperor. With only three tracks, yet clocking in at over 30 minutes, HORDES LAND unfurls in movements not unlike a classical work. Though by no means definitive, the release helped establish Enslaved's reputation for producing metal on an epic scale, and moved Scandinavian black metal into more ambitious realms.
