Box of Birch

A Broken Consort is the project name of solo instrumentalist Richard Skelton, who creates overdubbed mini-symphonies on his own. BOX OF BIRCH, Skelton's second full-length album under the name, contains four extended works pitched uneasily between the mellow ambient sound of Brian Eno and the more unsettling, aggressive likes of Bell Orchestre or Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
