Promise Ring

Teen popster Tiffany Evans rose to prominence when, at the tender age of 12, she walked away with a champion title on STAR SEARCH. Over the following years Evans released an EP and some singles, but her full-length debut didn't appear until 2007. Collaborators such as Ciara and Ne-Yo help boost the album's profile, but it's Evans's elastic and powerful voice that carries this set of hip-hop-tinged, R&B songs. There's a light, pop-minded flavor to the tracks here that appeals, but it's Evans's assured performances that earmark her as an artist to watch.
