Piñata Beats [Instrumentals]

With the original being a match made in hip-hop heaven, this instrumental version of Freddie Gibbs and Madlib's album Piñata comes in a distant second, but fans of the underground producer should be more than happy to pony up the dough for these Gibbs-less tracks. Funk and soul are in abundance, all of it chopped, looped, and smoked in true Madlib style, and while there's not much added to these backing tracks, the runtimes are allowed as much as they need, making this a Piñata-based suite, prime for hangout sessions and chilling. ~ David Jeffries
