God's Money

Influenced in equal doses by Afrobeat pioneers like Fela Kuti and avant-underground noisemakers like Swans, Brooklyn's Gang Gang Dance found their voice on their second full-length, MONEY. It incorporates all manner of distorted vocal loops, dissonant percussive elements, and melodically demented keyboards. The end result is songs like "God's Money V," which synthesize into a rhythm that emerges by the force of disparate elements magnetically mashing together. "Nomad For Love (Cannibal)" best illustrates GOD'S intent: to prove that something beautiful can develop organically (and mysteriously) from stream-of-consciousness sounds, if both artist and listener are just patient enough.
