Dum and Dummer 2

Building on the chemistry of 2019's Dum and Dummer, Dum and Dummer 2 brings Memphis' Young Dolph and Key Glock back together for another outlandish, self-assured selection of trap anthems. Much like its predecessor, D&D2 thrives through the Southern duo's synergy on the mike: "Sleep with the Roaches" leaps between nifty and sturdy flows with ease, "What u see is what u get" fuses introspection and braggadocio, and "Dummest & the Dummest" offers a VVS-encrusted mission statement. Yet there's still time for both MCs to get their own moments in the spotlight: Glock offers a glitchy, 8-bit banger with "Nintendo," Dolph pays homage to his iconic adlib with the cocky "Yeeh Yeeh," and both provide striding anthems with "I Can Show You" and "Hashtag." All is wrapped neatly by close collaborator BandPlay, who cements the duo's grandeur with his signature circling beats. ~ David Crone
