Clap 'N' Hustle

The debut album from Paris-based Trevor & Lisa, 2013's Clap 'N' Hustle, is a fun and funky album showcasing the group's love of retro '70s and '80s dance music, from funk and disco to soul and hip-hop. Centered around the core production trio of guitarist Sébastien Despicht, electronic programmer Mikael Prignot, and keyboardist Stéphane Ugolini, the album actually has a large ensemble sound with a handful of horn players and other musicians helping to round out the band's organic dance music vibe. Although the album is primarily an instrumental one, there are several guest vocalists and rappers added to the mix, including collaborations with rapper Raashan Ahmad, vocalist Jehro, among others. ~ Matt Collar
