Jana Hunter's simple folk songs have a wonderfully expansive, quietly droney quality despite being so raw and intimate. The title of the Houston-via-New York City singer-songwriter's 2007 album for Gnomongsong (run by Devendra Banhart and Andy Cabic), THERE'S NO HOME, comes across as less a melancholy resignation and more an affirmation of the possibilities of the whole wide world.
