On its bold 2007 Jagjaguwar debut, STAR DESTROYER, the Brooklyn-based art-rock act Alex Delivery presents an oddly compelling mix of blaring noise and subtle melody. While the band's loop-driven compositions (see the gradually unfolding "Komad") reveal Krautrock and post-punk influences, the group often aims for an even more abstract aesthetic, making the album as confounding as it is fascinating.
