Once Upon a Little Time

John Parish is best known for his production work (his credits include P.J. Harvey's superb TO BRING YOU MY LOVE), yet he is also a fine songwriter and performer in his own right, as evidenced by ONCE UPON A LITTLE TIME, his third solo effort. Minimal, subtly textured songs are conjured via spare, artful arrangements in a way that heightens their intense intimacy. Introspective and full of evocative lyrics, Parish's songs are hauntingly powerful, and make for a quiet gem of an album.
