Friends In the Corner [EP]

On her first fresh material since 2016's All I Need LP, Foxes offers a taste of a new era with the stopgap EP Friends in the Corner. Issued in 2021, the short set of emotive, streamlined pop provides the amuse-bouche to 2022's full-length main course, The Kick. From nostalgic throwback anthems ("Love Not Loving You" and "Dance" sound like mashups of Carly Rae Jepsen and Chvrches) to sweeping ballads ("Hollywood"), there's enough variation to satisfy fans and remind listeners of this underrated talent. ~ Neil Z.
