Aethenor, previously a power-metal trio project by Guapo's Daniel O'Sullivan, Shora's Vincent de Roguin, and Sunn O))))'s Stephen O'Malley, adds a pair of percussionists, guitarist Alexander Tucker and renowned experimental music figure David Tibet, for their third album. The four numbered compositions/improvisations are chilling, at times unsettling, and always fascinating. The interplay between the expanded lineup is remarkable, sliding effortlessly from near-silence to squalling noise.
