Adopting a much more cohesive musical structure than on his early solo offerings, the former Royal Trux guitarist Neil Michael Hegarty combines electronica, turntablist antics, and his characteristic voodoo rock & roll to often confounding effect on this 2005 collection. After a stuttering start, "Instilled With Mem'ry" morphs into a tribute to early 1980s post-punk, while "Activity Risks" combines a dance-floor ambience with punk-funk guitar rhythms, and "Soft Enfolding Spreads" contrarily wraps its soulful female vocal and motoring disco beat in a jagged-sounding backing track.
