No Rest for Ghosts

The Minus Story's fourth full-length album still carries echoes of their influences, like the Beach Boys and more recent indie darlings Neutral Milk Hotel, but it's also a fully realized work whose eccentric charms become more apparent after each listen. A throwback to the days when pop music meant a kind of exhilarated experimentation, tracks like "Ringing in the Dark" and "Little Wet Head" unfold according to their own peculiar logic, like dreams, while the band's reedy vocals float around somewhere in the ether.
