His hardcore fan base have been waiting five long years for Aesop Rock to return with a new full-length, but they'll give him a break since his regular label, Def Jux, has gone "on hiatus" since, plus he's been producing major works like Felt's 2009 effort Felt 3: A Tribute to Rosie Perez. Now he's back, finding a good fit by joining the Rhymesayers' label roster and going it alone when it comes to production, creating all of those grinding beats on his own. Look for his new collaborator of choice, the Moldy Peaches' Kimya Dawson, on guest vocals, as well as drop-ins from Rob Sonic and Allyson Baker of Dirty Ghosts.
