Rob Lamothe initially gained prominence as the lead vocalist for Los Angeles rock band Riverdogs, who released their critically acclaimed debut album in 1990 on Epic Records. Riverdogs still make records occasionally, when guitarist Vivian Campbell can get a break from his other bands (Def Leppard, Last In Line).

Lamothe went solo with his debut album ‘Gravity’ in 1996. The album introduced a more introspective side to Lamothe’s songwriting, exploring a depth of emotions, from sorrow, to love, to pain, to hope; a poignant reflection of the human experience. Showcasing his talents as a truly versatile singer songwriter and storyteller, Lamothe infuses ‘Gravity’ with blues, folk, and Americana to create a sonic journey of ethereal highs to raw, soul stirring lows.

‘Gravity’ was written and recorded in the summer of 1994, after returning to Los Angeles from a 30 date European tour with Riverdogs. Writing and recording ‘Gravity’ was medicine, as Rob left longtime musical collaborators in Southern California and moved to Canada, to be near his sons. Arriving in Hamilton, Ontario, he camped out in hotels and basements, carrying his acoustic guitar into any open mic or jam session he could find. Before long, he was meeting and making music with local but world class musicians, many of whom played and sung on ‘Gravity’.

Rob also continues to release band albums; including the critically acclaimed Riverdogs ‘California’ in 2017 and Cross Country Driver ‘The New Truth’ in 2023, and mentors and produces rising artists, including producing Logan Staats’ ‘A Light In The Attic’ album which was nominated for a 2024 Juno Award for Contemporary Roots Album Of The Year.

Touring extensively over many years, Rob has built a strong, loyal fan base in all corners of the globe, particularly in the UK and Europe where he has toured over 25 times. He has won an Edison Award in Holland, had songs on the U.S. Billboard Charts and on hit TV shows like Melrose Place, and has shared stages with everyone from Guns 'n' Roses to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra to Ron Sexsmith.

Recognised for his soulful vocals and evocative lyrics, Rob Lamothe makes music with authenticity, raw emotion, and craftsmanship; resonating with listeners as a true singer songwriter and storyteller.
