Brèves Rencontres

Jacques Dutronc made a splash in France in the 1960s with his distinctive style of French pop, but disappeared from the scene in the 1970s to pursue a film career. Dutronc released one album in the `80s, before returning to form with BREVES RENCONTRES in '95. The album looks back to the artist's `60s work (there is even a cover of his hit "Tous les gouts sont dans ma nature"), and updates his sound with a contemporary rock aesthetic ("L'ame Soeur"). The combination works wonderfully, thanks largely to Dutronc's witty, sophisticated vocals.
