Acoustics, Vol. 2

Continuing the idea the band started on their 2008 EP, Acoustics, Minus the Bear deconstruct some of their past work with a full-length follow-up, Acoustics, Vol. 2. While they have made a name for themselves with their knotty, rhythmically complex indie rock, this stripped-down take on their work makes for an interesting new perspective on their songs, giving listeners a warm, fresh look at their angular music that, while more basic, is still far from simple. While this shift might turn off casual listeners, Acoustics, Vol. 2 is an interesting diversion for fans looking to hear some old favorites in a way that feels both fresh and familiar. ~ Gregory Heaney
