Includes liner notes by Bill Dahl.\u003cbr\u003eAlthough a Texas boy, King came to musical maturity on Chicago's West Side, along with Magic Sam, Otis Rush and Buddy Guy. During the early 60s, he made a groundbreaking series of records, vocal and instrumental - \"Have You Ever Loved A Woman\" and \"Hideaway\" later became standards during the British blues boom. In 1966, he made a couple of lacklustre records before signing with Leon Russell's Shelter label. Russell had a deep appreciation of King's music and knew how to combine traditional material with contemporary arrangements. It showed that Freddie's talents were still intact on a set of standard blues that included \"Dust My Broom\", and \"Key To The Highway\". The diamond however is \"Going Down\", with the world's greatest descending riff.","brand":"InnerSleeve","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":43903621824677,"sku":"753088890512","price":48.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0612\/6007\/1077\/files\/126f23329930353556a7ce688cafa6b5_4e17e8f9-91a7-45db-9b96-d7c864065dd2.jpg?v=1777763872","url":"https:\/\/www.innersleeve.com\/en-gb\/products\/getting-ready-200-gram-vinyl","provider":"InnerSleeve","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
