The History Of Minecraft Music On Vinyl By C418

What Is Minecraft

Minecraft is a sandbox game that allows you to build things, explore the world around you, and survive against your enemies. The game is set in a 3D environment where everything can be manipulated by players. You’re able to create anything from small buildings and furniture all the way up to huge buildings and machinery with ease! In Minecraft, you can also play with friends online or participate in multiplayer modes like Survival Mode where your goal is simply staying alive as long as possible against other players who want nothing more than to kill you first!

The Importance Of Music In Minecraft

Music is a big part of any game, but it's especially important in Minecraft. Because the gameplay is so open-ended and can be applied to so many different situations, music can help you relax, concentrate and get into the mood for doing something.

Who Is C418

Minecraft Composer C418 aka Daniel Rosenfeld

The man behind the music is Daniel Rosenfeld, a German composer and producer who goes by C418 (pronounced “C-four-one-eight”). Rosenfeld started making music when he was 13 years old, releasing his first album in 1999.

Rosenfeld has released a bunch of albums under his real name, including three that have been included on the soundtrack for Minecraft: Volume Alpha (2010), Minecraft: Volume Beta (2011), and Minecraft: Volume Gamma (2012).

Minecraft - Volume Alpha

Released in 2011, Minecraft Volume Alpha is the first album to be released by C418 and originally released as a bonus for pre-ordering the game.. It was composed using a software synthesizer and a MIDI controller.

The album was released on September 3rd 2011 for free on the bandcamp website along with the purchase of Minecraft itself.

Since it's initial release, this record has quickly climbed the pricing charts on discogs and currently sits at $100 at the time of writing (December 1st 2022).

Minecraft - Volume Beta

Minecraft Volume Beta Vinyl

Minecraft Volume Beta available now for 59.95

This is the second album released for Minecraft, composed by Daniel Rosenfeld. Unlike the first album, the second features longer more robust compositions, however it still features simple melodies that are easy to hum along with.

As with all Minecraft Music, the music in this collection was intended to be calming and relaxing, so you could listen to it while working or studying without getting distracted by it (but still enjoying its pleasant melodies).

Much like it's predecessor, Volume Beta is set to be another rare album sought after by music lovers and Minecraft fans.

Conclusion

If you want to get into the Minecraft music scene, there are plenty of resources for you to find. For example, the official website has a section dedicated to all things related to C418 and their work with the game.

Be sure to check Innersleeve frequently for all your video game vinyl needs.
